Configuring log directory and verification server

You can use the plug-in configuration wizard to configure your log directory for transaction log backup and select your verification server. You must do this before performing any verification jobs.

Steps

  1. In the left navigation pane, click Hosts.
  2. In the Managed Hosts page, select the host and click Configure Plug-In.
The Configure SQL Server Plug-in wizard is displayed.
  3. In the Log Directory page, click Browse and select the directory on NetApp storage.
  4. In the Verification Server page, select the SQL Server instance you want to use as the verification server.
  5. In the Verification Server page, perform the following actions:
    1. Select Set up SQL Server instance on <host> as a verification server
    2. Select the SQL Server instance you want to use as the verification server.
    3. Optional: Select a different Run As credentials and specify the maximum jobs to verify.
    4. Select Auto assign mount point or Auto assign volume mount point under path
Auto assign mount point automatically assigns a mount point or a volume mount point under a path.

Auto assign volume mount point under path allows you to provide a specific directory. The mount points will be created within that directory. Before you choose this option, you must ensure that the directory is empty. If there is a database in the directory, the database will be in an invalid state after the mount operation.

  6. Review the summary, and then click Finish.
