Creating a logical interface

Depending on the design of your storage network and the number of file systems planned, you may need to create one or more additional logical interfaces. Creating each LIF is a two-step process.

About this task

A single IP address is assigned to the NAS Bridge virtual machine when it is started. NAS Bridge automatically creates a logical interface definition with the IP address. You can use this logical interface for both data and management traffic. However, if you need to separate the data and management traffic in your storage network, you must create an additional logical interface. You can also create multiple data LIFs if you plan to define a large number of file systems.
