Downloading PDFs or EPUBs for offline use

Most Documentation Center content is also available in PDF or EPUB format for offline use.

About this task

If offline editions are available, you will see a download button on the publication's home page and download links in each topic's footer. You can also download any combination of these PDFs in a single ZIP file, but this feature is not recommended for mobile devices.

Choices

To download the PDF or EPUB that contains the current topic, scroll to the bottom of the page, and then click the link in the footer.
If there are no download links in the footer, then the topic is not available for offline use.
To download any combination of PDFs:
1. Open the Documentation Center in a browser on a laptop, desktop, or other non-mobile system.
2. Click in the main toolbar.
  The selector generates a list of all PDFs files available in the Documentation Center. In the larger Documentation Centers, the list might take a minute or longer to be displayed.
3. Make your selections.
  All available PDFs in all available languages are selected by default. You can deselect languages to omit them, which will reduce file size and download time. You can also select or deselect individual titles.
  
  Example
  For example, the ONTAP 9 Documentation Center has individual release-specific versions of the Command Reference, which is not localized.
  If you want all of the English PDFs but only a single Command Reference, you would deselect all languages other than English, and then deselect the versions of the Command Reference that are not of interest.
  
  If you want all of the Japanese PDFs and the Command Reference for the ONTAP 9 release you are using, you would deselect all languages other than Japanese, and then select the version of the English Command Reference that is of interest.
4. Click DOWNLOAD.
  A ZIP file is generated with the requested PDFs and downloaded to your browser's default location. English PDFs are in the main folder. Localized PDFs are under the nl folder, in subfolders named for the language code.
