Upgrading the plug-in

For existing vSphere environments with the plug-in, you can upgrade the NetApp Element Plug-in for vCenter Server (VCP) using the latest management services package. There are additional complexities if you are upgrading as part of a vSphere upgrade or NetApp HCI or SolidFire full-system upgrade. You can also migrate settings from the Flash to the HTML5 version of vSphere Web Client if you intend to switch clients.

Procedure

Select one of these upgrade or migration options:

If you are upgrading your vSphere components, complete one of these procedures for your product:
- Upgrade your vSphere components for a NetApp HCI system with the Element Plug-in for vCenter Server
- Upgrade your vSphere components for a NetApp SolidFire storage system with the Element Plug-in for vCenter Server
If you are upgrading your plug-in as part of an end-to-end NetApp HCI or SolidFire storage system upgrade, follow the appropriate sequence for your product:
