Downloading and extracting the StorageGRID Webscale installation files

Before you can recover StorageGRID Webscale grid nodes, you must download the software and extract the files to your service laptop.

About this task

Attention: You must use the version of StorageGRID Webscale that is currently running on the grid. Make sure the version shown in the installation archive file matches the version of StorageGRID Webscale that is currently installed. To determine the installed version, sign in to the Grid Management Interface, and click Help > About.

Steps

Download the .tgz or .zip file for your platform.

Use the .zip file if you are running Windows on the service laptop.

Note: NetApp-provided virtual machine disk files and scripts for OpenStack have been deprecated for new installations or expansions of StorageGRID Webscale, but are available for recovery. Download the appropriate files and follow the OpenStack-specific recovery procedures in this guide.

Extract the archive file.

Choose the files you need, based on your platform, planned grid topology, and which grid nodes you need to recover.

The paths listed in the tables are relative to the top-level directory installed by the archive file.
