To monitor the ingest load on the StorageGRID Webscale system, analyze the trends of the ingest attributes. During normal operations, the ingest load might exceed the rate at which services process objects. When this scenario occurs, services might queue operations that can no longer be fulfilled in real time.
In the example shown in the following chart, the number of objects waiting to be stored increases and
decreases, but remains fairly low. Such a trend could indicate that there was a short term overload due to network
throughput, disk I/O performance, service availability, and so on.
In contrast, the trend shown in
the following chart is not sustainable. If the number of objects waiting to be stored to the
StorageGRID Webscale system starts to increase, ensure that all CMS and LDR services
are operating normally. It is also possible that the ingest rate is exceeding the throughput of the
StorageGRID Webscale system and that it requires expansion.
