If you anticipate creating one or more SMB file systems, you must define an Active Directory server. An Active Directory server is not required if you will be creating NFS file systems only.
Before you begin
- You must have the following information:
- Domain
- NetBIOS
- User name and password for the Active Directory server
- If you plan to use a single server for Active Directory, DNS, and NTP services, you must have already added the server as a DNS and NTP server.
Steps
- Click Configuration at the top of the web page.
- Click Active Directory Server under Network on the left side of the page.
- Click Add.
- Type the required configuration information.
- Domain: Fully qualified Active Directory domain (for example, department.example.com)
- NetBIOS Domain: Extracted from the domain name and used for NetBIOS (for example, department)
- Computer Name: Your selected name for the NAS Bridge (for example, nasbridge1)
- Account information: User name and password for the Active Directory server
- Click Save.
