Manage your NetApp Console local deployment user settings
In NetApp Console local deployment, you can modify your Console local deployment profile including change your password, enable multi-factor authentication (MFA), and see who your Console administrator is.
Change your display name
You can change your Console local deployment display name, which identifies you to other users. You cannot change your username or email address.
-
Select the profile icon in the upper right corner of the Console local deployment to view the User settings panel.
-
Select the Edit icon next to your name.
-
Enter your new display name in the Name field.
Configure multi-factor authentication
Configure multi-factor authentication (MFA) to improve security by requiring a second verification method when logging in to NetAppConsole local deployment.
Users who sign in through the NetApp Support Site cannot enable MFA. If this is true for you, you don't see the option to enable MFA in your profile settings.
Do not enable MFA if your user account is used for API access. Multi-factor authentication stops API access when enabled for a user account. Use service accounts for all API access.
|
|
You can't configure MFA for your account through the Console local deployment if your account uses Active Directory or another integrated directory service for authentication. |
-
You must have already downloaded an authentication app, such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator, to your device.
-
You'll need your password to set up MFA.
|
|
If you do not have access to your authentication app or lose your recovery code, contact your Console administrator for help. |
-
Select the profile icon in the upper right corner of the Console to view the User settings panel.
-
Select Configure next to the Multi-Factor Authentication header.
-
Follow the prompts to set up MFA for your account.
-
When you finish, you'll be prompted to save your recovery codes. Choose to either copy the codes or download a text file containing the codes. Keep these codes somewhere safe. You need the recovery codes if you lose access to your authentication app.
If you need to sign in with a recovery code, use them in the order shown in the UI during the recovery-code prompt. After you set up MFA, the Console local deployment prompts you to enter a one-time code from your authentication app each time you log in.
Regenerate your MFA recovery code
You can only use a recovery code once. If you lose yours, create a new one.
-
Select the profile icon in the upper right corner of the the Console local deployment to view the User settings panel.
-
Select
next to the Multi-Factor Authentication header. -
Select Regenerate recovery code.
-
Copy the generated recovery codes and save them in a secure location.
Delete your MFA configuration
Deleting MFA removes the second verification step for your next sign-in. To use MFA again, you must configure it again from your user settings.
|
|
If you are unable to access your authentication app or recovery code, you will need to contact your Organization administrator to reset your MFA configuration. |
-
Select the profile icon in the upper right corner of the Console local deployment to view the User settings panel.
-
Select
next to the Multi-Factor Authentication header. -
Select Delete.
Contact your Organization administrator
