Learn how to create a Kubernetes cluster on NetApp HCI in three clicks, using NetApp Kubernetes Service (NKS).

To create a NetApp HCI cluster, you will need NKS enabled for your NetApp HCI account. See our step-by-step instructions here.

You will also need to complete all of the necessary networking and other requirements. Click here for a full list of the current requirements.

Step 1: Choose a Provider

Log in to NetApp Kubernetes Service (NKS) and click + ADD CLUSTER.

Click the NetApp HCI tile to select NetApp HCI as a provider.

Step 2: Configure Your Provider

In this step, you will set your provider configurations. Here you can update any of the following if you wish:

  • Number and size of master and worker nodes.

  • The HCI installation you wish to use.

  • NKS workspace.

  • SSH keypair.

When you have all the provider configurations set, click SUBMIT to continue.

Step 3: Configure Your Cluster

On the third and final step, you can make any desired changes to your cluster configuration:

  • Set the cluster name.

  • Change the Kubernetes version.

  • Update the Pod and/or Service Network

  • Change the OS distribution.

Review all your cluster configurations, and when everything is correct, click Submit. Your cluster will begin building, and will be ready for use within minutes.
