You can display a high-level overview of the performance and storage utilization of your AFX cluster.

Storage capacity

Monitor your storage utilization to ensure you have sufficient storage capacity for current and future workloads.

Monitor high-level cluster storage utilization

In ONTAP System Manager, you can view a high-level display of the storage utilization for the entire cluster.

Steps

  1. In System Manager, select Dashboard in the navigation pane.

  2. Locate the Capacity tile and view the physical storage available and used.

  3. Select History to access Active IQ to view the historical data.

Monitor storage availability zone capacity details

Beginning with ONTAP 9.19.1, you can view the capacity details of your storage availability zone including space thresholds, space consumed by snapshots, and data reduction. You can also set space usage thresholds to the percentage at which you want ONTAP to generate warning and critical alerts.

Steps

  1. In System Manager, select Cluster > Overview and then select Availability zone.

  2. To modify the warning or critical space thresholds, select blue pencil edit icon under the threshold that you want to edit.

Cluster performance

System Manager provides a detailed overview of the AFX cluster performance.

Steps

  1. In System Manager, select Analysis and then Performance.

  2. Review the cluster performance summary at top including latency and throughput.

  3. Under the Top actors tab, select the desired SVM and then Enable activity tracking as needed.

  4. Under the Volume performance tab, view the performance details of a specific volume.
