If you have installed a previous version of OnCommand Workflow Automation (WFA), you can upgrade to the latest version of WFA to use the new features and enhancements.
If you want to upgrade from WFA 2.0, WFA 2.1, or WFA 2.2, you must first upgrade to WFA 3.0 or later before upgrading to WFA 4.2.
For example, if you created a backup on a system that is running WFA 2.2, the backup can be restored only to systems that are running WFA 2.2 or later.
While upgrading from earlier versions of WFA, you cannot install MySQL on your own. You can install MySQL on your own only during the fresh installation of WFA 4.2.
You can review the restored content for completeness in functionality—for example, you can check the functioning of your custom workflows.
