This message occurs when Data ONTAP® attempts to assign a disk automatically, but the request fails. The failure could be due to a disk error or a user simultaneously assigning the disk to a storage system.
- Corrective Action

Use the "disk show -v" nodeshell command to determine the status of the disk. Use the "storage disk assign" command to assign the disk.
