Metadata filters in AI Data Engine

The AI Data Engine Investigation view provides metadata filters to narrow your results to a specific data grouping. Apply one or more filters simultaneously to define the files you want to examine or act on.

Time filters

Filter Description

Last created

Filter files by the date they were created.

Last modified

Filter files by the date they were last modified.

Last accessed

Filter files by the date they were last accessed. Use this filter to identify cold or stale data.

Discovered time

Filter files by when AI Data Engine first detected them during scanning.

File attribute filters

Filter Description

File Type

Filter by file extension or type classification. Select one or more file types from the list.

File Size

Filter by file size. Enter a minimum value, a maximum value, or a range.

File / Directory Path

Filter by the full or partial path of the file or its containing directory.

File / Directory Owner

Filter by the user or group that owns the file or directory.

File Hash

Filter by a file's hash value to find specific files or confirm duplicate content.

Duplicates

Filter to show only files that have duplicate copies detected in the catalog.

Directory Type

Filter by directory type. Applies to the Directories tab.

Source filters

Filter Description

Data Container

Filter to a specific volume or share.

System

Filter to a specific cluster.

System Type

Filter by the type of storage system.

Governance filters

Filter Description

Tags

Filter files that have a specific business tag applied.

Policy

Filter files that match a specific saved policy. Policy names appear in the filter list.

Access filters

Filter Description

Number of users with access

Filter files by how many users or groups have access. Use this to identify broadly accessible data.

Users / Group permission

Filter files by a specific user or group that has access permissions.

Combining filters

Filters are combined with AND logic, meaning the results must match all applied filters simultaneously.
