Back up Hyper-V VMs from on-premises ONTAP systems to supported object storage targets to protect your data. Scheduled and on-demand backups are stored in your cloud or private object store.

To back up workloads on a schedule, create policies that govern the backup and restore operations. See Create policies for instructions.

Use an on-demand backup to protect your data before you make system changes.
Required NetApp Console role
Backup and Recovery super admin or Backup and Recovery backup admin role. Learn about NetApp Console access roles for all services.

From the NetApp Backup and Recovery menu, select Inventory.

Select a workload to view the protection details.

Select the Actions icon
> View details. -
Select the Protection groups, Datastores, or Virtual machines tab.

Select the protection group or virtual machines you want to back up.

Select the Actions icon
> Back up now.
The backup uses the same policy that you assigned to the protection group or virtual machine. -
Select the schedule tier.

Select Back up.
