The replacement controller adopts the IP address of the impaired controller you removed.
Go to the next step.
The impaired controller used DHCP for the IP address
Ask your network administrator to associate the DNS/network and IP address for the impaired controller with the MAC address for the replacement controller.
-
Place the controller online using SANtricity System Manager.
-
Select Hardware > Controllers and components to show the controllers.
-
Select the controller that you replaced to display its content menu.
-
Select Place online.
-
-
As the controller boots, check the controller LEDs to make sure communication with the other controller is reestablished:

The amber Attention LED remains on.
-
The Host Link LEDs might be on, blinking, or off, depending on the host interface.
-
-
When the controller is back online, check whether an NVSRAM mismatch is reported in Recovery Guru.
If an NVSRAM mismatch is reported, upgrade NVSRAM using the following SMcli command. The
-kparameter is needed if the array is not https secure.SMcli <controller A IP> <controller B IP> -u admin -p <password> -k -c "download storageArray NVSRAM file=\"C:\Users\testuser\Downloads\NVSRAM .dlp file>\" forceDownload=TRUE;"
If the SMcli command cannot be completed, contact NetApp Support or log in to the NetApp Support Site to create a case. -
Confirm the status of the storage system is Optimal and that the controller's Attention LEDs are off.
If the status is not Optimal or if any of the Attention LEDs are on, confirm that all cables are correctly seated and the controller is installed correctly. If necessary, remove and reinstall the controller.
If you cannot resolve the problem, contact NetApp Support.
After placing the new controller online, complete the controller replacement.
