Configure credentials for the PostgreSQL cluster
You must configure the cluster user credentials for the PostgreSQL cluster to perform data protection operations.
-
If the PostgreSQL cluster does not have valid credentials configured, a red padlock icon appears only for the autodiscovered resources. If during a subsequent discovery operation, the configured credentials were found to be incorrect or did not provide access to the cluster itself, then the red padlock icon will reappear.
-
You must configure valid PostgreSQL cluster credentials to be able to protect the resource or add it to a resource group to perform data protection operations.
-
The PostgreSQL user configured in the credentials must have sufficient privileges to access the cluster and perform backup and restore operations. At a minimum, the user should have the SUPERUSER role or equivalent privileges (such as pg_read_all_data, pg_write_all_data, and replication permissions).
-
SnapCenter uses the configured credentials to connect to the PostgreSQL instance via the psql or libpq client. Ensure that the PostgreSQL client tools are installed on the plug-in host.
