Monitor scanning health in AI Data Engine

Contributors netapp-dbagwell

Before you act on a dashboard or investigation finding, confirm that the underlying data is current. Verify that scanning is working and that your findings reflect up-to-date data.

Verify scan status and coverage

Confirm that all your storage systems are connected and being scanned.

Steps
  1. From the AI Data Engine UI, select Configuration.

  2. On the Scanned systems tab, confirm that every storage system you expect to see is listed and enabled for scanning.

  3. Select View details from a system row to review scan progress and any errors. Refer to Manage data sources for details.

Validate that investigation findings reflect current data

If the dashboard shows a large amount of cold or stale data, confirm the numbers are current before making decisions based on them.

  • Check the last-scanned time for each storage system contributing to the finding. A system that hasn't scanned recently might under- or over-report cold and stale data.

  • Confirm scan coverage is complete for that system. A partial scan (paused, in progress, or with errors) means some data hasn't been evaluated yet.

  • Wait for the next scan cycle or resolve the underlying error if coverage looks incomplete.
