To install and set up your EF50 or EF80 storage system, you must prepare your site, install and cable the hardware components, power on the storage system, and complete storage system setup and configuration.
To prepare for installation, get the site ready, understand the lifting precautions for your storage system, unpack the boxes and compare the contents to the packing slip, and register the storage system to access support benefits.
To install the hardware, install the rack-mount hardware in the cabinet or rack, and then install and secure your storage system.
To cable the hardware, cable the controllers to each other to enable inter-controller mirroring, which ensures full system redundancy and is used for cache mirroring and I/O shipping, and then cable the controllers to your host network.
To power on your storage system, plug a power cable into each controller power supply, and then connect them to power sources on different circuits
To complete your storage system setup, cable and configure the management ports on the controllers, configure and manage your storage system, and then verify the host I/O module protocol is correct.
