Ease of deployment

You can now deploy ONTAP tools for VMware vSphere 10.3 with minimum requirements on a single node cluster, and then update it to a high-availability (HA) or a multi-node deployment.

Seamless provisioning and configuration

ONTAP tools for VMware vSphere 10.3 has removed dependencies associated with Trident and now uses dynamic storage provisioner to enable seamless provisioning and configuration.

Enhanced security for REST API authentication

ONTAP tools for VMware vSphere 10.3 now relies on CA signed certificates for ONTAP tools REST APIs and user interface to provide higher security.

Support for ASA r2 systems

ONTAP tools for VMware vSphere 10.3 supports VMFS datastore provisioning on ASA r2 systems to help protect VMFS datastores with SnapMirror active sync and SRA/VMware Live Site Recovery.

Improved observability

ONTAP tools for VMware vSphere 10.3 extends observability metrics support for VMFS and vVol datastores and their respective VMs.
