ONTAP storage views for datastores

ONTAP tools for VMware vSphere shows the ONTAP storage side view of the datastores and their volumes in the configure tab.

Steps
  1. From the vSphere client, navigate to the datastore.

  2. Select the Configure tab in the right pane.

  3. Select NetApp ONTAP tools > ONTAP Storage. Depending on the datastore type, the view changes. Refer to the table below for information:

Datastore type

Information available

NFS datastore

The Storage details page contains storage backends, aggregate, and volume information.

The NFS details page contains data related to the NFS datastore.

VMFS datastores

The Storage details page contains storage backend, aggregate, and volume information.

The LUN details page contains data related to the LUN.

The Namespace details page contains data related to namespace when the VMFS datastore uses the NVMe/TCP or NVMe/FC protocol. Volume and aggregate details are not displayed for ASA r2 storage system-based datastores.

vVols datastores

Lists all the volumes. You can expand or remove storage from the ONTAP storage pane.

This view is not supported for ASA r2 system-based vVols datastore.
