Determine your ASA r2 system storage limits

Contributors netapp-aherbin

For optimal performance, configuration and support, you should be aware of ASA r2 storage limits.

Limits might vary based upon your ASA r2 system and your ONTAP version. Refer to NetApp Hardware Universe for a complete list of the most current limits for your specific system.

Note Virtual machine (VM) limits are not listed in Hardware Universe. The recommended maximum number of VMs per HA pair is 800 and per cluster is 1200 based upon ASA r2 system volume limits. This limit does not apply to VMs residing in VMFS datastores. There is no maximum number of VMs for VMFS datastores.
