You can connect a Snapshot copy from any node in a host cluster. Follow the guidelines while connecting to a Snapshot copy.

The
snapdrive snapshot connect
command can be executed from any node in the host cluster. If you initiate thesnapdrive snap connect
command with the-devicetype shared
option from any nonmaster node in the host cluster, the command is sent to the master node and executed. For this to happen, ensure that thersh
orssh
access-without-password-prompt is allowed on all the host cluster nodes. -
The multiple file systems and disk groups that are specified in this operation should have the same device type scope; that is, either all should be shared or all should be dedicated.

The
snapdrive snap connect
command with NFS or storage entities on raw LUNs is not supported. -
The
-igroup
option is supported with the-devicetype
dedicated option and not with the-devicetype
shared option in thesnapdrive snap connect
command. -
SnapDrive for UNIX executes the
snapdrive snap connect
command on the master node. Before creating the shared storage entities, it creates and maps the LUN on the master node and then maps the LUNs on all the nonmaster nodes. Is also creates and manages the igroups for all the nodes in the host cluster. If any error message occurs during this sequence, the Snapshot connect operation fails. -
The
snapdrive snap connect
command can be used to connect the following storage entities:-
A shared file system or disk group that is already present in a shared or dedicated mode in the host cluster.

A dedicated file system or disk group to a single node in the host cluster even if the file system or disk group is already present in a shared mode in the host cluster.

A Snapshot copy of a file system or disk group that is created on a node outside the host cluster.

A dedicated file system or disk group that is already present in a nonmaster node cannot be connected again in a shared mode in the host cluster without the
-destdg
option for a disk group and the-autorename
option for a file system.
That is, if a file system is already present in dedicated mode in one of the nonmaster nodes in the host cluster, you have to specify the snapdrive snap connect
command with the -destdg
and -autorename
options, or explicitly specify the destination file system in the command.
