This message occurs when the system receives a burst of ICMP ping packet within a one-second interval. The packets are dropped by the system because these packets could be due to an ICMP attack.
- Corrective Action

If the condition persists, determine the network source of the ICMP ping traffic and then block it by using a firewall rule. For assistance in determining the source, contact your network administrator.
